Lazy and Lovin' it
It's been 18 days since Columbus and I am still in recovery. My legs must have really taken a beating because they have never hurt so bad or, taken so long to get back to normal. They definitely are getting better, but this week is the first time I have noticed some improvement. Besides the walk/jogging I have been doing with some of my clients I have not run a step. I really thought I would be anxious to get back to it, but I can honestly say that I'm enjoying sleeping in and sitting on the couch and eating 8 chocolate chip cookies today. Yes, 8. I did walk about 7 miles today, however, and I was thinking how maybe I would become a walker instead of a runner. It's much more peaceful and less painful.
I went to Cave Run Lake with Jill and Gary to do some trail running. Well I let them run and I hiked the 9 mile Caney Loop. My whole body was sore Monday and Tuesday, just from hiking! I took it as a hint to keep my exercising to a minimum. I think for the next week or so I will try to only exercise with clients, and when I am ready I'll build back up slowly. Usually when I take time off of exercise I get a little nutty, and crabby, but I don't even think that has happened yet. For the time being I am going to embrace the laziness until it starts to drive me crazy. Or until it drives Gary crazy.
